Sex Education in Schools

With the number of teenage pregnancies still increasing, sex education needs to come from somewhere. Why not the school system? The Bible and anything to do with it has been removed so this should clear the way for sex education in the schools. Living in today's society with both parents working full time jobs outside the home, by the time they get home from work there is no time for the kids. Parent's today don't have time for thier kids. Kids get more attention from thier peers than anyone in thier lives.

In the United States, the 18 - 19 year-old age group has the highest rate of pregnancy followed by the 15 - 17 year-old age group. However, 15 – 17 year-old pregnancy rates dropped by as much as 23% between 1992 and 2000, while the rate for 18 to 19 year-olds only dropped by 11%.

Education is vitally important in helping youth know about their options when it comes to sex. Teaching teens about using contraception each and every time they have sex is imperative to healthy sexual relationships.

So to make a long story short and straight to the point, yes, I think sex education should be in the schools.

Unfortunately, Barack Obama wants sex education for kindergarten children. I think that is way too young.

If sex education in the schools today were similar to what it was when I was in school, I would say yes. Unfortunately, it is not related at all to what was taught in the 1960s when I was in elementary school/junior high.

I've recently seen copies of the actual pamphlets that groups were allowed to give out to young teens, and they were graphic, unbelievably raw, and completely endorsed not just premarital sex but promiscuity. I don't believe these are the values most parents want for their kids.
